The cancer crisis in South Africa is becoming insurmountable, where access to cancer treatment and care is disproportionately associated with socio-economic status, access to health insurance, and geographic location. MetroFM spoke to Dr Sudeshen Naidoo, about how the foundation aims to close the gap in cancer care.
On World Cancer Day, 4 February 2023 eNCA interviewed our founder and chair, Dr Sudeshen Naidoo about the launch of the Johnson Rose Cancer Foundation and its mission to close the gap in cancer care. He spoke about the inequality in access to treatment in South Africa and the foundation’s three-pronged approach to solve the cancer crisis in the country.
On World Cancer Day, 4 February 2023 we celebrated the official launch of the Johnson Rose Cancer Foundation. Brainchild of Dr Sudeshen Naidoo, a leading radiation oncologist in Johannesburg the foundation honours the memory of his late father and aunt who had cancer. The foundation brings together experts from the local oncology community and aims to provide vulnerable uninsured patients diagnosed with cancer with access to treatment and support services.
